Cads Info Day

On December 6th and 7th, 2023, this year's Cads Info Day took place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT in Oberhausen.

Over 80 members were able to discuss the challenges surrounding supply chains and the circular economy during numerous presentations and panel discussions. Speakers from a wide range of fields provided participants with important insights into all aspects of sustainability as well as current and future regulations.

Our Institute Director, Dr. Kerstin Schulte, and the Head of the Chemistry Department, Dr. Ines Anderie and Dr. Christian Achtel, were also in attendance. Within the cads organization, PFI is responsible for both the coordination and management of the "Chemicals" and "Test methods and standardization" working groups. During the information event, Dr. Anderie and Dr. Achtel gave the other participants an insight into the development of the projects from cads working group C. They presented the planned changes to the cads RSL (Restricted Substances List) and gave an outlook on future exciting topics in the field of "chemicals".

"Cads is preparing intensively for the requirements of the Green Deal. Ecodesign, Digital Product Passport and the avoidance of green washing are at the top of the agenda in order to make the footwear and leather industry fit for the future," emphasizes Dr. Anderie.
