Accreditation and Approval

Test Laboratories
The German national accreditation body DAkkS confirms that the test laboratories of the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens e.V.) are competent according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025  to conduct tests in the following areas:

• Chemical, physical, and mechanical-technological tests on consumer goods, footwear, materials consisting of leather, plastics, textiles, and toys
• Tests on Personal Protective Equipment
• Microbiological tests on consumer goods, leather, textiles, plastics, and other materials for antimicrobial properties and selected procedures for microbiological studies on consumer goods, articles of furniture, leather, and textiles

Certification Body

The German national accreditation body DAkkS confirms that the certification body of the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens e.V.) is competent according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 to carry out certification of management systems in the following areas:

• DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality management systems
• DIN EN ISO 14001 Environmental management systems
• DIN EN ISO 50001 Energy management systems
• ISO/IEC 27001 Information technology - IT security procedures - Information security management systems 
• DIN EN ISO 13485 and it's annex Quality management systems - Medical devices
• Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and it's annex Management systems - Personal protective equipment

The German national accreditation body DAkkS confirms that the certification body of the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens e.V.) is competent according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065  to carry out certification of products, processes and services in the following areas:

• Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and it's annex Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The Central Office of the Federal States for Safety Engineering (ZLS) confirms that the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens e.V.) is duly authorised to:

• Conduct conformity assessments of Personal Protection Equipment according to PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 
  - Foot and leg protection
  - Hand protection
• Award the GS Mark to products in accordance with German Product Safety Act § 20 ProdSG
