In times of outsourcing, automation and global division of labour, the Testing and Research Institute Pirmasens e.V. (PFI) is deliberately taking a different approach: we focus on direct, personal cooperation between our product development team and our customers. Close connection between product development and testing laboratories

In the ISC (International Shoe Competence Centre) department, product developers, designers and modellers work hand in hand – and not just within the department. Through close cooperation with our physical and chemical laboratories and the PFI certification body, we create a continuous exchange of ideas.
Discussions, tests and iterative improvements are implemented directly on the product. This results in a development that sustainably improves quality, functionality and user experience.
