Additionally, PFI offers in-house training in various fields. Through partnerships with renowned national and international organisations, we offer apprentices in cooperative training programmes the unique opportunity to complete specialised aspects of their training both at PFI and with our partners. This provides valuable insights into the many facets of footwear manufacturing even during the training period.

The PFI also provides training itself and offers apprenticeships in various specialist areas.

The “City of Seven Hills”, Pirmasens, has 40,000 residents and is situated on the edge of the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve. This idyllic natural paradise offers certified premium hiking trails and adventure opportunities for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts. Discover the castles and red sandstone cliffs of the Wasgau region, the vast fields of the Sickingerhöhe plateau, and the neighbouring Alsace-Lorraine region in France.

However, Pirmasens is not just for outdoor lovers. Families can enjoy parks and attractions such as the Dynamikum, the first science centre in Rhineland-Palatinate. The well-developed infrastructure allows easy access to larger nearby cities such as Karlsruhe, Saarbrücken, Ludwigshafen, and Mannheim. Even Paris can be reached within a few hours.

With its affordable rental prices, welcoming community, proximity to nature, and a variety of leisure activities, “Bärmesens” – as Pirmasens is known in the local Palatine dialect – offers a truly unique living and working environment.
