ISC Forschung und Schulung Michael Tackenberg Vorsitzender PFI ISC The PFI celebrates its 65th birthday this year I would like to congratulate the institute s management and the entire team and wish us all continued success The PFI is unique Competent reliable and innovative the PFI has developed into a globally recognised partner of the footwear and leather industry In the immediate vici nity of the PFI our industry has another outstanding institute the ISC founded in 2008 Both institutes invest intensively in research and science and ensure that this know how is communicated worldwide Strong together In order to cope even better with current and future challenges the ISC was integrated into the PFI a few months ago The integration offers many advantages we create synergies and strengthen the processes on site The closer cooperation has also made it pos sible to set up the ISC s diverse offerings in an even more targeted way I am thinking for example of the topics of digitalisation and sustainability From Pirmasens to the world Competence know how and services are bundled in one place Experts from renowned companies act on the board of PFI and ISC contributing their know ledge from a wide range of fields and thus creating a valuable link to the footwear industry Even more the competence bundled in this pool enables the trans fer of knowledge all over the world Fit for the future In the future PFI and ISC will continue to invest more in education and training Among other things I am thinking of even more intensive cooperation with the Far East The goal must be to equip our companies our skilled workers and our entire industry for the digital age PFI and ISC are on a very good path There are many challenges But our industry offers excellent development potential During the ISC seminar Footwear expertise participants receive useful information about the shoe its history and significance The three day seminar is aimed at all those who work in the shoe industry and would like to deepen their knowledge We are one Benefit from the expertise of PFI and ISC Make your company fit for the future 17
