Organisations certified to ISO 14001:2015 have until 30 April 2029 to implement the new requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-default has-white-color has-custom-pfi-farbverlauf-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" style=\"border-radius:10px;padding-top:0.5rem;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:0.5rem;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);font-size:clamp(0.875rem, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 0.2rem) * 0.375), 1.1rem);\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Important:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The transition period ends on 30 April 2029 (36 months).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certificates issued under ISO 14001:2015 will cease to be valid after that date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making the switch early provides planning certainty and avoids time pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-default has-white-color has-custom-pfi-farbverlauf-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" style=\"border-radius:10px;padding-top:0.5rem;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:0.5rem;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);font-size:clamp(0.875rem, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 0.2rem) * 0.375), 1.1rem);\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>What changes will ISO 14001:2026 bring?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Greater focus on the entire life cycle<\/strong><br>Companies should consider environmental aspects throughout the entire life cycle of products and services \u2013 from procurement through to manufacture, use and disposal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Taking climate change and biodiversity more fully into account<\/strong><br>Environmental and climate risks, as well as their impact on biodiversity, should be systematically assessed and taken into account in decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Greater accountability on the part of the management<\/strong><br>Top management must integrate environmental objectives and environmental performance more closely into the corporate strategy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Identifying and capitalising on opportunities<\/strong><br>In future, the focus will be not only on risks but also on opportunities, for example:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-checkmark-list\">\n<li>Resource efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Circular economy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable business models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-default has-white-color has-custom-pfi-farbverlauf-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" style=\"border-radius:10px;padding-top:0.5rem;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:0.5rem;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);font-size:clamp(0.875rem, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 0.2rem) * 0.375), 1.1rem);\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Your potential timetable for the transition<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Define responsibilities<\/strong>: Appoint a project team and involve top management at an early stage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Understanding the requirements<\/strong>: Familiarise yourself with the new regulatory requirements and deadlines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Carry out a gap analysis<\/strong>: Compare your existing management system with the requirements of ISO 14001:2026 and identify the gaps in relation to the new standard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Implement measures<\/strong>: Based on the gaps identified, make targeted adjustments to processes, assessments and documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Training staff<\/strong>: Ensure that relevant staff are informed and trained in good time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Check effectiveness<\/strong>: Use internal audits and management reviews to check the implementation and effectiveness of the measures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Plan your certification in sufficient time<\/strong>: Agree the transition date with your certification body well in advance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-default has-white-color has-custom-pfi-farbverlauf-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" style=\"border-radius:10px;padding-top:0.5rem;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:0.5rem;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);font-size:clamp(0.875rem, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 0.2rem) * 0.375), 1.1rem);\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>What will happen to my certificate?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a re-certification audit is still carried out in a company in accordance with the old standard, the certificate\u2019s validity will always expire on 30 April 2029.
